Teach them to be good people

The moment your child is born you start teaching them.

You have to teach them to eat, to sleep, to roll over, to crawl, to walk, to talk annnddd pretty much everything else (no pressure).

and I totally get it…. every parent wants their little one to be happy. But I feel like many times parents get so caught up in wanting their kids to be happy, that they forget to teach them how to be a good person.

While I fully believe in letting them be little, I also, just as strongly, believe in teaching them right from wrong.

It’s one of the hardest things about being a parent, but one of the most rewarding….. YOU GET TO TEACH THEM.

Teaching them to treat others the way you want to be treated.

Teaching them that you can’t always get your way and that’s okay

Teaching them the power of saying something nice.

Teaching them patience and that great things are worth the wait.

Parenting is HARD! It’s so easy to just give in, do the easy thing and just let them be happy….. but we can’t do that all the time. As much as we want to always make everything better, we can’t. We need to teach them the best that we can and hope that they will have a good enough foundation to make good choices as they grow.

It’s all about teaching them to be good people, because thats really what we want for them. Sure we want them to be happy, but to be a good person is even more important (because with that, they will be happy).

It’s never too early to start teaching your little ones and preparing them for the future.

Raise them to be good people, not just a happy child.
