What we've been up to // update

Where to begin?!?.....

So far, 2020 has been..... a lot. I honestly can't think of the right word for it, so we are just going to say it's been a lot.

Here's a little update on what's been going on with us through all this:

Long story short:
In February, my husband found out that he had to go on a trip for work. We decided that it would be a good chance for the girls and me to go back home and spend some time with family.
We all traveled to North Carolina, and then my husband returned to Texas to get ready for his trip.

March came, and we all know how everything went nuts.

A few weeks into his work trip, my husband got called back home to quarantine (out of precaution). The girls and I were still in North Carolina (thankfully with family)... where we stayed for the next two months due to the shelter in place.

Our month-long visit turned into three months.

Thankfully we were all safe... the girls and I were with family, and my husband returned to Texas safely. We were apart, but we were all healthy.

After three months apart, my husband was able to come to North Carolina to get me and the girls. We all traveled back to Texas together, stopping at state parks along the way (but that's for another post.... it was amazing!)

Since we've been back, we have been staying busy with work, school, and home projects.

I honestly can't complain because we have been beyond blessed. Sure, things have weighed on us here and there mentally... but all in all, we have nothing to complain about.

Truth is... this is just a hard time for everyone in different ways. It is easy to get caught up in the negative and only focus on that. But whatever you focus on starts to become your thought pattern.

Negativity will grow just as quickly, if not quicker than positivity.

We have tried to use a lot of this time to think, re-prioritize, daydream, set new goals, pick up new interests (we're growing pumpkins now!), and try to reset and focus on as many positive things as we can.
Of course, that is far easier said than done, but I prefer it over the alternative.

I know this is a hard time for many, but I encourage you to try on focus on something positive....even if that something is one small thing. That one little thing can grow into focusing on more positive things.

Again, I know that it is a difficult time for all…. some more than others, but I do hope that you are doing well.

Feel free to leave a comment below letting me know how you are doing.
