Looking forward to the next season
Our evening routine has become us (my husband and I) both going outside to water the plants together. So far, we are attempting to grow some vegetables and pumpkins… excited about both but extra excited about the pumpkins. We love the Fall season… the cooler weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving, everything pumpkin, it’s just a great time of year.
The other night we were out giving the pumpkin their nightly drink, and it just reminded me how much I’m looking forward to Fall. Then it dawned on me that it is already mid-July! Part of me is left wondering, “where has this year gone?!”…. shelter in place… that’s where it has gone. You would think that with plans changed, the time would be moving extra slow, and I’m sure for some it has, but for me, It seems like the year has just flown by so quickly. It’s like that saying, “the days are long, but the months and years are short.”
Right now, we are all in a difficult season of life, one way or another, and most are looking forward to getting to the next (hopefully better) season…. a lot like how I’m looking forward to Fall. While I think it’s great to look ahead and be excited, I think it’s equally important to learn and grow in whatever season you are currently in.
This season for me, is a great reminder to slow down, focus on the important things, let go of distractions, and find the good, and do as much good as possible. I’m not saying it’s easy, but they are great reminders I’m working on daily.
Whatever this current season looks like for you, I hope you are finding the good in it while looking ahead.
