What we spend our money on.......

It’s no secret that I do not like to have a lot of things in our home.  

We normally go through our house about 2 times a year and get rid of things we don’t use anymore… and yet I still feel like we have too much.

We don’t spend a lot of money on things, we don’t spend much on birthdays or Christmas or even anniversaries….

Instead of spending money on a lot of things, we like to spend that money on travel! 

There’s a quote that I love that says.....

“travel is the only thing that you can buy that makes you richer.”

It’s so true! 

I know I’ve said this before, but I honestly cannot remember most the gifts I got when I was younger, but I can remember trips we took, the things we saw on those trips and the memories that were made.

Experiences stay with you much longer than things.  They can shape you, change your perspective and open your eyes to new things.

Travel gets you out of your comfort zone…..
it’s full of the unexpected. 
it’s exciting and relaxing all at once.
it’s a chance to be fully present. 
it’s a chance to see just how lovely this world is.

Things will break, things will wear out, things will come and go… but the experiences that we have in our lives will last forever.

What a great gift to give ourselves.
